Task Delivered/Solution
Support to various Public sector organisations over the last few years in managing and reporting on their Carbon emissions. Assessment of the maturity of their Carbon Management Plans and subsequent support through bespoke action plans to achieve realistic cost and carbon savings. Identification and quantification of emission sources and carbon saving projects, strengthening of internal processes and supporting key communication across various stakeholders. Development of a Carbon Footprinting and Project Registers Tool which is now currently used by a wide range of public sector bodies to quantify and forecast carbon emissions and set targets. This tool has subsequently formed the basis of the Scottish Government’s proposed Climate Change (Duties of Public Bodies) Reporting template. Support provided to the Scottish Government, NHS Scotland, Local Authorities, SEPA, Universities and the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service.
Key Achievements
48 Public sector organisations supported to develop new/updated CM Plans with projects to reduce carbon emissions. New tools and guidance developed.
